(1) Introduction to the philosophical-psychological understanding of well-being orientations (eudaimonia, hedonia, extrin
sic goals)

in activities, orientations, experiences, and general functioning
(3) Brief introduction to methodological procedures (quantitative and qualitative research)
Conceptualization of Well-Being in HCI
(1) Developed frameworks and concepts in HCI for the consideration of well-being, e.g. positive technology.
(2) Presentation of 'core' case studies for a granular and state-of-art understanding of well-being in HCI, e.g. the differentiation between hedonic- and eudaimonic-oriented technology interaction.
Focus: Well-Being Centered System Design
(1) Use case of a recommender system based on the well-being
constructs of eudaimonia and hedonia (E&H)
(2) Operationalization of E&H for user modeling
(3) Interface design for the acquisition of E&H
(4) AI techniques for the inference of item- and user-related
E&H from user interaction digital traces
Focus: Well-Being Centered Interaction Design
(1) Focus on well-being-centered interaction design, i.e. measuring the impact
on hedonic and eudaimonic aspects of
the interaction itself
(2) Engineering meaningful interactions and positive technology
(3) Understanding important variables in the development of
systems in terms of user well-being
